Orthodontics Braces

At Advance Dental Care, Cardiff

Braces or Orthodontics tooth straightening is a popular treatment for both adults and children. At Advance Dental Care, Cardiff, Orthodontic braces treatment can be much easier and quicker. Dr Andrew Nourish offers you revolutionary straight teeth treatments, including Fastbraces ® and Inman aligners ® meaning we can often take less than six months to give you a great smile. Other advanced orthodontic treatments mean that braces are much more discrete – some including Invisalign ® and ClearAligner ™ are virtually invisible!

What Is Orthodontic Treatment?

Orthodontic treatment is a way of straightening and improving the alignment of teeth through the use of braces, giving you a great smile, helping both you and your teeth look better and also often helping them to function better.

Why Should I Have Orthodontic Treatment?

A great smile is attractive and can help you create a great first impression. At Advance Dental Care, Cardiff, Dr Andrew Nourish invites you to take advice about how we can give you that winning smile. Straight teeth can make you feel more confident and happier. Your teeth will be easier to clean, reducing your risk of tooth decay and gum disease. Orthodontics can also improve your bite – the way your teeth meet together, making them function better and making jaw joint problems less likely.

Inman Aligners ® can straighten front teeth in 6 to 16 weeks and Fastbraces ® can completely correct your smile in 3 months to about a year. We also offer more conventional fixed braces with metal and tooth-coloured or ceramic brackets; and virtually invisible braces and Invisalign ®.

Get Straight Teeth With Our Fixed Braces

These are the more traditional ‘train track’ braces. They are affordable and very effective. For patients who would like a more subtle look, we can use tooth-coloured brackets instead of metal ones.

How Do Fixed Braces Work?

After an initial examination, we will talk with you about your orthodontic needs and your expectations, and will advise the treatment that is best suited to you, your lifestyle and your budget.

We will take impressions (moulds) of your teeth so we can create your braces. A week or two later, you will be fitted with your braces. We will advise you on how best to care for your teeth and braces – it is vital to follow this advice to avoid potential permanent damage to your teeth.

You will need to see us regularly (usually every 6 to 8 weeks) so we can check your progress and adjust the wires on your braces. Treatment usually takes 18 to 24 months.

Cheryl and I are just back from this year’s trip to Rif Mountains, about 4 hours east of Tangier, Morocco. The trip involved a team of dental nurses, dentists, therapists, translators and assistants to help get kids out of daily dental pain. It was my 3rd trip and Cheryl’s second.

This is what we are working against. We found this stall outside the gate of a school where we subsequently took out over 100 teeth ...
